12 Dec OC Art Blog Goes to College
About a month back I was asked to be the juror for Orange Coast College’s annual student photography exhibition. Well tonight was the opening and the awards ceremony so I headed on over to make an appearance and hand out some awards. For those that have been reading for awhile you know these things aren’t a favorite thing to do because I always feel like I want to pick more winners than allowed and I don’t want to leave anyone out, especially since anybody involved in photography in these parts knows that OCC’s 2 year program is better than most 4 year school programs. Lots of young talent to be found here. Anyway, it was still fun and some photos follow. PS- Vegas was a blast. I made the final table in the poker tourney I played in.
I ran into photo aficionado/collector Larry Pribble. Listen kids, this is how it’s done. Spot em early before they became the next big thing. That is passion.
One of my awards went to Mary Amor. I found out tonight she leaves for NYC in two weeks to become an assistant to Mary Ellen Mark. She’s like 20. Didn’t I tell you they have a great program here.
