05 Feb Saturday Night Live
Damn I’m tired. Mark Dutcher and David Ross came down from LA for a Saturday night tour of the OC art scene and to meet up with their friend Sandow Birk. We ran all over the place and had a great time. I think they were impressed with the level of activity down here. Nice job people. Anyway here are some photos:
First stop was the Shed to catch Jocelyn Schneider Foye’s performance, Wrestling with Clay. It was a good time.
OC Weekly writer Rebecca Schoenkopf taking in the match.
Jeff Foye filming the activities.
Then it was off to OCMA to catch the Landscape Confection opening. Good show, Amy Sillman’s work was probably my favorite. Pictured is Fabrice Gygi’s work.
Mark & David about to start their own wrestling match on the Fabrice Gygi piece.
Ran into artist & Brea Gallery Curator Travis Collinson w/ Mark. Look for Travis at the Office in April.
From L to R. Richard Chang art writer for the OC Register, forgot his name, the famous Ed Giardina & Darlene DeAngelo Curator for the HB Art Center.
Then off to Santa Ana starting with Beyond Borders at spaceonspurgeon.
Then it was off to UNIONartspace. Work by Lisa Lo Russo.
Then off to GCAC to catch Sandow Birk’s show. Need to go back when less crowded. Lots to see here. Mark w/Sandow.
Ran into SqueezeOC writer Jit Fong Chin.
Last stop was to say hi to Dirk Petchul at the new Santora space the Seed.
