You might want to re-think that curatorial career. It seems now that the hot career in the museum world is the increasingly high profile position of party planner.

Vanessaplatform The LA Times did a piece on MOCA’s party planner extraodanaire Vanessa Gonzalez today.

Ashleyeckenweiler And OCMA’s resident party girl Ashley Eckenweiler has been getting a lot of attention lately.

It’ll be interesting to watch how this develops. Museums trying to out party each other. Should be fun!

UPDATE: Where Most Needed documents how these MOCA parties brought in over 1Mil. Not bad.

    so the artists working in the recently identified field of “relational aesthetics” have been both observant and prophetic.
    what has art ever been except a backdrop or point of identification or trading currency for a social scene? certainly any art that is an object is just window dressing. the majority of the pictures on this very blog attest to that.
