Found Because I’m a big fan and because I know a family member they send me free copies. I have to let everybody know about a can’t miss event in North Orange County, otherwise known as Long Beach (hey….LA doesn’t want them).

Found Magazine will be hosting one of their parties at Second City Council Gallery this Saturday. This stuff just fascinates me, don’t miss it. More info can be found here and here.

Davy Rothbart, who appeared on David letterman last month and has been featured in such publications as The New Yorker: Talk of the Town, The Sunday Times, Wall Street Journal Europe, SPIN, UTNE and GQ is coming to Long Beach. The 2nd City Council Art Gallery + Performance Space (2cc) is one of only three California stops that he and his brother Peter will be making during their 50 state tour. 2cc, located in the former Wille’s Tin Shop in the East Village Arts District, is hosting a special art, music and theater event in honor of Long Beach’s The Found Theatre. The Found is celebrating their 30th anniversary and move to a new space. The artists’ reception and performance by the Rothbarts will take place December 4th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and is open free to the general public.

    The latest, most exciting new development from the founders of Found, though you probably already have your copy… Dirty Found (http://www.dirtyfound.com/ ).
    Just what it sounds like:
    “We collect Dirty Found stuff: pervy Polaroids, sleazy birthday cards, raunchy to-do lists, nasty poetry on napkins, illustrations…
    “Just how raunchy is this Dirty Found?
    “You can see totally people’s junk in the magazine (though faces are obscured).”
