27 Mar The Business of Art
As someone who runs a Gallery that focuses on young and emerging artists it has definitely come to my attention how little the University/Art School system prepares their students for life in the real world upon graduation. Well here is an opportunity to sharpen your art business skills and jump start your career.
Ashley Emenegger formerly of Gallery 825 has started her own consulting company Mclean Fine Art and will be conducting a two day workshop titled Art is My Business. Details follow:
Art Is My Business – Making Definitive Plans to Reach Your Artistic Goals

Posted at 12:31h, 28 Marchalso, it is actually amazing to me that this stuff is NOT taught in school. when i found this out i felt bad for the artists that have spent so much time and money on their educations, and who are still in debt years later. i wonder why it has not yet been incorporated into the universities. even vocational schools offer job placement and prep. it’s a shame. why do you (someone, anyone) think this is so?
