For those of you that are starting to notice that things definitely slow down in the art world around here in the summer and are looking for something to do. Look no further.
This weekend is the beginning of the very popular Painting’s Edge series held in the beautiful mountain town of Idyllwild which is a 2 hour drive from LA/OC. This years lineup features some heavy weights like Dave Hickey, Robert Storr, Shahzia Sikander and Lari Pittman. The workshops are all full but anybody can attend the evening lectures if you call in advance.
Side note: Office alumni Danielle Segura heads up the Idyllwild Arts Center and Kyle Riedel, who will have a solo show at The Office in September will have work on display during the event. Go ahead and get out of the city for awhile, you deserve it.
