This Saturday after running through LA we made sure to stop at Enview Gallery in Long Beach to catch the opening reception for artist Robert Fontenot. I had known of this space for a little while but this was my first visit and I was quite impressed, both with the space and the work of Robert Fontenot. Enview as I understand it is a collaborative effort between Autumn Beck and Chloe Flores and their mission is to have 2 month shows featuring various local artists. I’m very excited to see another local space showing emerging artists and I was very happy to meet both Autumn and Chloe. If you be a local artist or a local collector, get out there and support this space. We need more like it.
P.S. The promise not to buy any more art for awhile lasted about 3 hours as we had to pick up a piece at the show. Mrs. OC Art Blog wanted it for her office so I guess the ban was lifted. I forgot to take a picture but will post when the show ends. As usual, photos from Saturday night follow:
