Posted at 10:47h, 28 SeptemberThanks for the links. On Mario — when I first started researching him, I thought the same thing too: What DOES he do? He doesn’t do one thing. He does all sorts of stuff. What I like about him is, whatever he does tackle, he does very well. Biennial co-curator Rita Gonzalez said Mario reminds her of DJ Spooky. “My comparisons would not just be from visual arts because his interests are so broad … There’s a lot of cultural criticism that goes on his work … I’d say he’s a person who’s gleaning a lot from music, to urban planning, to architecture, to street art, and to folk art.”
