09 Nov Carrie Paterson Online
In keeping with the Blog theme. UCI Art Professor Carrie Paterson’s latest project can still be viewed online here.
"Carrie Paterson presents a short story in the form of a web log (blog), from which various textual objects have been pulled and realized in the space of the gallery. "Everywhere at Once, and Not Just Once" is a fictional work about moral panic and the phenomenon of ‘repressed memories’ in relation to sites of cultural contestation like interracial relationships, feminism, and the legacy of the Holocaust."
And the word on the street is:
"As Paterson brilliantly demonstrates, the absolute dominance of electronic communication has trumped that old postmodernist doubt that one can ever speak of a "we." Online we are equally weightless, displaced, deranged and confused…" – Chris Kraus
