Replace the Seattle Times with the Orange County Register and the named critic with our local visual arts critic and this article by Jen Graves at The Stranger pretty much sums up the state of affairs in Orange County. We should ask for permission to reprint when the OC Register finally does away with its cultural criticism…

    This is a bunch of bullshit, Chris.
    You can’t compare the situation in Seattle to the situation in Orange County, or Farr with myself. And you insult me deeply by suggesting that I’m not engaged in the local arts scene.
    Do you even read our newspaper? Do you see the stuff we put on our Arts Blog?

    Now that’s the kind of passion we need here in our local scene…
    That’s the strongest position you’ve taken on anything in my recollection. I’m happy it happened here on the OC Art Blog.
