Part I

Tuesday night the gargantuan Hurley store in Laguna is having an opening.  Dalek (aka James Marshall) and Hurley present new conceptual site specific installations for the two exhibitions PSYCH OPTIC BLACK LIGHT FUZZ.  The first of which is this Tuesday, January 11, 225 Forest in Laguna Beach (that's the big two story Hurley store for those of you who have not made it out yet) 6-9pm.

Part II

The second opening is taking place at Hurley's Costa Mesa )( Space.  Saturday, January 15, 1945 Placentia Avenue, Costa Mesa 92627, 6-9pm.  They tell me there will be a live performance by musical phenomenons King Buzzo, Duane Denison, Steve Turner and Haze XXL.  Sounds like a good time to me. See you there!!!!

Here is some background for you curious types:

In the summer of 2009, Dalek was commissioned to create a 10ft x 22ft site specific painting for Hurley’s now infamous 225 Forest concept store, which is home to the Nike 6.0, Converse and Hurley brands. The commissioned painting led to Dalek becoming an ambassador for Hurley, and now his artwork and designs can be seen throughout the Hurley brand.
