I’m going to have to do some driving this weekend. Pomona, Torrance and Long beach will be destinations where shows are going on that I want to see. Anyway, let’s start with Long Beach.

This weekend the dynamic duo over at enView kick off 2006 with the first Los Angeles show by NYC based artist Maureen Shields.

The opening reception will run from 7-10pm and will include a performance by the Duo ING at 9pm.

enView gallery is pleased to present I’d Rather be Lucky than Smart, an exhibition of works by New York based artist, Maureen Shields. This is the artist’s first solo exhibition in Los Angeles, which includes collage, drawing, sculpture, and installation. Her works explore Western themes of childhood – as mainstream American culture envisions it – in which our cultural myths play into a misrepresentation of innocence.
