Another event to be sure to hit this weekend in Santa Ana is the opening of Feng Shui at UNIONartspace. Feng Shui will feature artists Lisa Lo Russo and Christine Finley and will run from 7-10pm. Don't miss it. ...

This Saturday there is going to be a lot to do in Santa Ana. First off I want to let you all know about a new space in the Santora Arts building called The Seed. This Saturday the Seed opens Explorations which will feature digital new media work by artists such as Dirk Petchul, Chris Nielson, B Fly, Oscar Morales and others. Also opening this weekend is Landscape Confection at OCMA. The members opening is Saturday night so sign up now or wait for Super Bowl Sunday. The Orange County Museum of Art presents Landscape Confection, an exhibition that showcases new and intriguing works that expand the boundaries of landscape painting. Ran down to Long Beach tonight to catch the Maureen Shields show at Enview. Very much enjoyed it and it was nice to see Autumn as always. After that I cruised over to the outdoor event now known as Last Saturday. Had fun and even bought something. Also ran into a few people that I haven't seen in awhile and that was cool. Looks like there kicking it up a notch in the East Village Arts district in Long Beach. This Saturday Last Saturday will be taking place. Looks like they shut down Linden and open it up to artists booths, etc. Looks like there will be a few bands playing too. This Sunday the Third Annual OC Biennial opens at the Muckenthaler. The opening will go from 12-3pm and will give you a chance to see what OC has been up to lately. It's opening time again at The Beall. Tomorrow night knifeandfork (Sue Huang & Brian House) open "5 'til 12." The opening will run from 6-9pm and all the info can be found here. "5 'til 12 is an immersive narrative installation that explores the fragile human ego using evolutionary algorithms and game-theory. I'm beat. Usually during openings I just kinda hang, smoke a cigar and enjoy the conversation but for some reason tonight was busy. Some of you may remember my Laguna Art Museum Auction Post where I told you I picked up a piece called "City Escape" (see photo) by an artist named Leigh Peffer. At the time Mrs. OCArtBlog and I didn't know anything about the artist but liked the photo so we made a winning bid.
