Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been sliding into the summer schedule. So what does that mean?? Well here's my list of what I'm going to do (or hope to do) this summer vacation: 1. Surf more. 2. On July 14th I play my first ever World Series of Poker event in Vegas. Yes I'm going for a bracelet. If I do well in that event I might even take a shot at the main event. 3. Saturday was art day. First off I headed up to Chloe Flores' place to help jury the upcoming Tour De Artistes fine art event. Then Mrs. OC Art Blog and I headed over to MOCA for the Rauschenberg show (must see) and the Lorna Simpson show (very good). Participated in the Sunset Beach Art Festival this Weekend. All the money raised goes to art education in our local schools and god knows they need it. The weather turned out to be great and the whole event was a lot of fun. It was great seeing a lot of people I haven't seen for awhile while working on my tan. I'm so happy to let you all know that Office alumni Christine Nguyen will be doing a large scale photo-based piece in the Hammer Museum lobby that will open Sept. 17th in conjunction with the Wolfgang Tillmans/Aernout Mik exhibition. You might remember her last from our artLA booth and her most recent show at enView. Way to go Christine! P.S. Mark Dutcher who just had a show at The Office will also be showing at the Santa Monica Museum in Sept. with Phillip Guston and Giorgio de Chirico...but...

While gallery hopping in Buenos Aires today I inquired about a painter that I liked and was told by the gallerist: "He's a very young artist....He's 36" Kind of puts things in perspective don't you think?? Buenos Aires is beautiful. More later.

Guy Kawasaki offered up some great blogging observations after his first 100 days of blogging. My favorite are the first two: 1. The more popular a person thinks he is in the blogosphere, the thinner his skin and the thicker his hypocrisy. This should be exactly the opposite: the higher you go the thicker the skin and thinner the hypocrisy. 2. The more a blogger uses the pronoun “I,” the less he has to say. Many bloggers apparently believe that people not only give a shitake about everything...

My Business Partner's annual charity event to help raise money for Children Today, who provide services for homeless children in Long Beach, is this Saturday night. You should go and all the info can be found here. I'll be there after the opening.

Sorry for the lack of posts. This week has been work and Poker. I won a tournament at one of our local card clubs and took home a few K so that was sweet and now it's all about installation for the new show. This show will mark The Office's three year anniversary. How we doing??
