Wanted to let everybody know, a little early, about two openings this weekend in our area that should not be missed. First off is the Christine Nguyen opening at Enview Gallery. Second up is the Doug Buis opening at Whittier College's Greenleaf Gallery that will take place on Sunday from...

Went to Riverside this weekend to attend an event and had a great time. Mrs. OCArtBlog and I had a chance to get away for a little bit and see what the 909 had to offer in the way of an art scene and we came away really quite impressed:   Home Base the Mission Inn. Highly recommended if you ever find yourself in downtown Riverside. First stop was the Riverside Museum of art to catch the Carlos Estrada-Vega show. Next we ran into the...

Went to OCMA's benefit auction last night and had a great time. I'm very happy to report that I got the Mark Dutcher piece I wanted. I originally fell for it during a studio visit but he had it committed to OCMA for their auction. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone, support the museum and get one of Mark's awesome pieces. I brought a camera but completely forgot to take any pictures. Just imagine lots of fabulous people were there....

I'll be in the 909 for a couple of days (don't ask) so I will miss it all but here you go. Get out there and support your scene! Camille Rose Garcia opens Sat. at Grand Central Art Center. It was another successful opening at The Office. As usual thank you to everybody that came out to support Kyle and the space, we appreciate it, and thanks to Carol Es for letting me purchase one of her new books for the collection. I'm afraid to open it, it looks so nice. Some bad photos follow: Mr. Riedel. Video piece Erosion & Sediment Season Opener Erosion & Sediment Installation Shot Art fans...

Hope to see you tomorrow night. Kyle Riedel - A Platform To Stand On About the exhibit The Office is pleased to present Kyle Riedel's most recent series of images. Originally placed along the Los Angeles river, A Platform to Stand On references both classic Disney images and roadkill. With the river providing the context for the images, they become strange and beautiful portals mocking an otherwise bleak landscape and illusions that have gone slightly awry. Also on view will be two seperate videos: Erosion and Sediment,...
